EXAMINATION SYLLABUS for:
CPAC Level 2 :
Pipeline Welding Concepts for the Z662-19 Oil and Gas Pipeline Systems
To achieve this Certificate of Qualification, applicants are required to pass a supervised examination. The intent of the examination is to verify the applicants knowledge and understanding of, and/or ability to use:
- Z662 Table of Contents
- Scope and Application of Pipeline Construction Welding
- Z662 section 7
- Z662 sections 10, 12, 15 and 16 as applicable to WPS
- Annexes J, K and P
- Z662 Reference Documents
- Z662 Management, Document Control and Evidentiary Requirements
- The Roles and Responsibilities of Pipeline Welders
Applicants will be provided copies of the applicable Code sections for use during in person examinations. No external documentation or electronic devices are permitted to be used during the exam. Applicants writing computer-based examinations are permitted to use their own copies of the above noted reference material.
Prerequisites and Equivalencies:
There are no prerequisites required for this CPAC Level 2 qualification. Applicants are strongly advised to have a Level 1 Basic Concepts and Content qualification prior to writing the exam. Training from industry publications and information sessions, online training courses, and lecture series may also be suitable. Exam questions may include some basic Z662 content questions.
There are no equivalencies to this qualification.
