Grandfathering
Grandfathering is a process of recognizing competence without a formal examination. Alternate assessment methods are used to establish exam equivalency.
- Level 1 – Applicants who have evidence of training to any edition of the Z662 are Grandfathered and issued a level 1 Certificate of Competence upon completion of any intermediate or advanced level course that includes an examination to the current Z662 edition. Applicants may also challenge exams for the current edition.
- Level 2 – Grandfathering is not available. Applicants may challenge exams to the current Z662 edition.
- Level 3 – Grandfathering is not available. Applicants may challenge exams to the current Z662 edition.
- Level 4 – Grandfathering for level 4 mentors was conducted by the Council in January 2015. This was a 1 time initiation process and is now closed.
A Level 4 Mentor designation is granted with a Company accepted application review and the successful completion of the Level 4 examination.
